Certification Verification

What clearly identifies a professional from others in his industry? Certification. AOLP offers two different certification programs to its members: Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician (CLVLT) and Certified Outdoor Lighting Designer (COLD).

The Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician (CLVLT) exam is a standardized certification test to address the lack of standards that presently exist for low voltage outdoor lighting. The CLVLT exam measures the knowledge and capabilities of the applicants and is specifically for 12-volt systems. For more information on CLVLT, click here.

The Certified Outdoor Lighting Designer (COLD) program offers an advanced level of specialized training in landscape lighting design. The four year program stresses fundamental principles that are universally acknowledged to form the basis of "good and responsible" lighting design and allows for the development of an individual's own lighting design style.
